Transferring Knowledge: Connecting Theory and Practice through Collaboration
The Leibniz Institute for Materials-Oriented Technologies (IWT) is located on the campus of the University of Bremen and benefits from close cooperation with the University and the City University of Applied Sciences. This close cooperation is reflected in the dual function of our directors, who are also professors in the subject area 4 - Production Technology - Mechanical and Process Engineering and in the subject area Construction and Environment. This close link makes it possible to integrate scientific research directly into teaching and to develop practice-oriented solutions for industry with input from the new generations. This collaboration strengthens the transfer of knowledge between research and practice and offers students the opportunity to participate in state-of-the-art projects and laboratories led by leading experts in their field.
Leibniz-IWT also promotes international exchange through cooperation with renowned universities and research institutions worldwide. These global partnerships contribute to networking and knowledge exchange, which strengthens the innovative power and competitiveness of the participating institutions.
The scientists at Leibniz-IWT offer a variety of courses as part of the degree programs in Faculty 4 Production Engineering - Mechanical Engineering & Process Engineering. These include introductory lectures, in-depth lectures, workshops and laboratory visits. This wide-ranging teaching provides students with a sound theoretical education, supplemented by practical experience in modern, well-equipped laboratories.
