The Official Materials Testing Institute of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen (MPA Bremen) is a division of the Leibniz Institute for Materials-oriented Technologies - IWT. It is accredited as a testing laboratory according to the DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) and notified for testing (System 3) within the framework of the EU Construction Products Regulation. In the Department of Construction, the MPA Bremen operates a Testing, Surveillance and Certification Body (PÜZ Body) accredited according to the State Building Regulations as well as a Certification Body accredited by the DAkkS according to the standard DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065 for construction products (Systems 1 and 1+) and factory production control (System 2+) within the scope of the EU Construction Products Regulation (BauPVO) as well as in the voluntary area according to certification programmes of the MPA Bremen. It is notified for activities within the scope of the BauPVO by the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt).
The identification number of the MPA Bremen in the national area as a recognised body is HBR 01. The identification number of the MPA Bremen within the framework of the BauPVO as a notified body is 1075.
