The Institute for Materials Testing (MPA) offers a wide range of services in the field of materials and building materials testing as well as damage analysis. Whether in our laboratories or directly on the construction site, we are a reliable partner in the fields of construction and microbiology. Our specialist departments work closely together on an interdisciplinary basis to deliver perfect solutions for individual questions and problems. As a division of the Leibniz Institute for Materials Engineering – IWT, we also collaborate with the IWT departments and are involved in research and development.

We are a building authority-approved and European-notified testing, monitoring, and certification body, and we support numerous manufacturers of building materials, construction products, and structures at the national, European, and global levels in obtaining the necessary building authority approvals and certificates. All certificates issued can be found here. MPA Bremen operates a testing laboratory accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and a certification body accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065. In 2020, the Institute for Materials Testing (MPA) was once again reviewed and certified as a member of the VMPA – Association of Materials Testing Institutes e.V. as part of a voluntary evaluation for fulfilling the VMPA criteria, in particular with regard to independence and impartiality as well as outstanding technical competence.
