Science Senator Moosdorf visits Leibniz IWT
Bremen's Senator for the Environment, Climate and Science, Kathrin Moosdorf, visited Leibniz-IWT last Tuesday together with State Councilor Jan Fries and Dr. Britta Hamann. The focus was on sustainability, resource conservation and digitalization, but also on recruiting young talent and promoting women.
A tour of laboratories offered insights into projects - from powder production to gear manufacturing. Our director Prof. Rainer Fechte-Heinen emphasized: "Our research into hydrogen applications in the steel industry, as a fuel and for electrification is actively contributing to sustainability and CO2 reduction."
The science senator's visit was marked by an exchange of views on highly topical issues and underscores Leibniz-IWT's close ties to current scientific and social developments. The Institute remains committed to pioneering research that makes a significant contribution to addressing current challenges.
