The doctoral period is an exciting, but also challenging phase of life in which many doctoral candidates are under great pressure and need staying power. The Leibniz-IWT would like to offer its scientific colleagues not only excellent professional support, but also mental encouragement to help them overcome non-professional challenges.
On November 12, a retreat was held at the John Will Hotel in Überseestadt. Here, doctoral students were able to exchange ideas with like-minded people, learn about the basics of mental health and resilience and reflect together on support at the institute. The focus was on communication models and role clarification. A well-supervised environment can be crucial to staying healthy and motivated - which is why it is important for the institute to create space for this.
