In 2023, the Leibniz-IWT once again jointly saved the "spare cents" for a good cause. This means that the cents after the decimal point in many monthly salary payments were transferred to a joint "virtual" piggy bank. 

At the works meeting in December, a joint decision was made to donate the remaining cents from 2023 to the Löwenherz children's hospice. The facility in Syke in the Bremen region cares for children and young people suffering from life-shortening illnesses on their final journey. In order to provide comprehensive support for those affected and their families, the Löwenherz children's hospice relies on donations.
