At the end of April, the project partners of the research project "OdyZeuS-a - Optimization of the cooling lubricant supply for energy and CO2 savings in highly dynamic machining processes with geometrically undefined cutting edges from the outside" visited the Leibniz-IWT.
In the project, which is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) and the Project Management Jülich (PtJ), the Production Engineering programme area is working together with the cooperation partners QSIL, esgemo Lubricant Technology, PMB Bobertag GmbH, SPREYER WERKZEUG-TECHNIK GmbH, LIGHTWAY GmbH and other associated partners to optimize grinding processes. The aim is to increase energy and resource efficiency during the process by improving the supply of cooling lubricant. The recycling potential of grinding waste is also being investigated.
During a tour at the IWT on April 28, the progress made so far in the project was demonstrated directly on the relevant machines. The first impressions were then discussed and further developed during a subsequent dinner. More in-depth results to date were presented and discussed during the conference on the following day. After a constructive coordination of the next steps, all participants looked forward to further cooperation and the progress of the project.
