Prof. Hans-Werner Zoch awarded IFHTSE Fellowship

Significant honor for our former Managing Director, Prof. Hans-Werner Zoch: At this year's IFHTSE (International Federation for Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering) congress together with ECHT 2022 in Salzburg, he received the special award of the IFHTSE Fellowship. Particular mention was made at the announcement of his foresight in new areas of research and technology, as well as his sustained leadership, which he said had given heat treatment and surface engineering in particular a strong position in the research landscape and broad networking with neighboring fields.
From September 5-8, the 27th IFHTSE Congress could again be held in Salzburg in presence together with ECHT 2022. As the leading international association in the field of materials engineering, this event offered a varied conference program in which many people from the community were happy to participate. All the more beautiful was this setting then also for the annual awarding of prizes and honors. The IFHTSE Fellowship for 2022 went to Prof. Hans-Werner Zoch, former Managing Director of Leibniz-IWT.
For twenty years, the IFHTSE Fellowship has been awarded to individuals who have made outstanding and significant contributions to the development of heat treatment or surface technology. Prof. Peter Mayr and Dr.-Ing. Thomas Lübben from the IWT are already on the list of recipients.
