Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Rainer Fechte-Heinen has recently become a member of the expert group (GAG) 1.1 "Metallic Materials" in the well-known Research Network for SMEs (AiF) as an independent reviewer elected for a fixed term.

The renowned reviewers from industry and science are newly elected every three years in a multi-stage procedure. In a total of seven differentiated expert groups, their task is the confidential and impartial assessment of research proposals and final reports within the framework of Industrielle Gemeinschaftsforschung (IGF).

The AiF is the industry-supported network for the promotion of research, transfer and innovation in SMEs. Its goals are the initiation of research, the qualification of young scientists and specialists, and the organisation of exchange opportunities on the results of scientific research.
