Prof. Fechte-Heinen takes over as Vice Chair of UBRA
23. Jan 2023
At this year's general meeting of the U Bremen Research Alliance (UBRA) on January 17, 2023, Prof. Rainer Fechte-Heinen was elected vice-chair. Together with Prof. Jutta Günther, Rector of the University of Bremen, Frauke Meyer, Chancellor of the University of Bremen, and Oliver A. Dreher, Head of Administration at Fraunhofer IFAM, Fechte-Heinen now forms the board of the research alliance for a term of two years. Last year, Fechte-Heinen was already elected chairman of the scientific council of UBRA.
The U Bremen Research Alliance brings together the University of Bremen and twelve institutes of non-university research funded by the federal and state governments - all of which are based in the state. It thus includes research institutes of the four major German science organizations, i.e. Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Helmholtz Association, Leibniz Association and Max Planck Society, as well as the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence. Collaboration in the U Bremen Research Alliance spans four key scientific areas and thus literally "from the deep sea to outer space".
