Prof. Dr. techn. Evgeniya Kabliman has been enriching the IWT Board of Directors since April 1. As a newly appointed professor at the University of Bremen, she is taking over the management of the “Digitization Technology” department at the institute. With her expertise, she will bring digitization in research and teaching even more into focus.
Prof. Kabliman completed her doctorate in the field of computer-aided materials science at the Vienna University of Technology in 2011 after studying applied physics and mathematics. Her career led her to AIT Austrian Institute of Technology LKR Leichtmetallkompetenzzentrum Ranshofen GmbH as a senior scientist, where she specialized in simulation-supported technology development and thermomechanical treatment of metals. Since 2021, she has been deepening her knowledge of machine learning in materials modeling as the group leader of Materials Computation at the TU Munich TUM Chair of Materials Engineering of Additive Manufacturing.
With her practice-oriented approach, which has increasingly developed from basic research to applied research, Prof. Kabliman will not only advance digitalization but also strengthen close cooperation between science and industry.
