New chairman of the scientific advisory board
Recently, the scientific advisory board of Leibniz-IWT has a new chairman. Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Martin F.-X. Wagner from the TU Chemnitz replaced the previous chairman, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Thomas Böllinghaus from BAM (Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing). The new chairman, Prof. Wagner, has been head of the Chair of Materials Science at Chemnitz University of Technology since 2010. He has been awarded the Honor Ring by the German Engineers’ Association and the DGM Award by the German Materials Society for his scientific work. His research focuses on the mechanical behaviour of materials, in particular the relationship between microstructure and property profile. With his expertise, Prof. Wagner will support Leibniz-IWT in the future as the new chairman of the scientific advisory board and will be available for advice on scientific questions.
