New group leader of the microbiology working group
At the beginning of August, the Institute welcomed a new member of staff to lead the Microbiology team: After training as a chemical laboratory technician, Dr. Antje Stahl obtained her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Biology and a Master of Science at the International Max Planck Research School of Marine Microbiology. She then successfully completed her dissertation in the scientific field of "Marine Microbiology" at the Jacobs University.
Subsequently, she was employed in the field of bioanalytics in industry, among other things. At the MPA Bremen, she can combine research and application-related contract work in a management position. "I've been very nicely welcomed and I'm looking forward to what the next weeks and months will bring," says Dr. Stahl after the first days at her new workplace, "In addition to the expansion of the microbiology team, I'm of course very much looking forward to the interdisciplinary cooperation with other departments and to working out and discussing new future-oriented research questions together."
In addition to her expertise from analytical practice, Dr. Stahl brings a lot of experience specifically to working with the MALDI Biotyper, which is also available at the MPA: "The possibilities of Biotyper application are absolutely fascinating! I look forward with anticipation to the integration of the device in upcoming tasks that we can work on with it," says Ms. Stahl.
The institute is pleased about the reinforcement by Ms. Stahl and wishes her a good start.
