New Head of Department for Mechanical Properties

At the beginning of the month, the Leibniz-IWT was pleased to welcome Dr.-Ing. Johanna Eisenträger (on the left in the picture) as the new Head of Department for Mechanical Properties at the Leibniz-IWT.
Dr. Eisenträger studied mechanical engineering at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and successfully completed her PhD at the Institute of Mechanics, for which she received the prestigious Otto von Guericke Dissertation Award. She then spent three years as a DFG research fellow at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. During this time, she worked intensively on modeling the creep of short-fiber reinforced materials.
At the Leibniz-IWT, Ms. Eisenträger is moving from her previous field of research, materials mechanics, to more applied research, thereby expanding her research focus towards materials engineering, particularly in the area of simulation in structural mechanics.
The institute welcomes her and is looking forward to the cooperation!
