Congratulations to Maike Peters! She was selected through the competitive application process and will assume the role of head of the Civil Engineering Department at MPA Bremen starting in May 2026. She has been working there as a research associate for several years and is known as a dedicated point of contact. With this next career step, she will now guide the department’s strategic direction.
The Civil Engineering Department offers testing, monitoring, certification, and expert assessments in the field of building materials for virtually the entire civil engineering sector. Research projects and commissioned work focus on topics such as the circular economy, recycling, and structural damage. The extensive expertise of the colleagues at the MPA ranges from mineral building materials, such as concrete and masonry, to wood as a building material.
On May 11, Maike Peters officially took over the reins from her predecessor, Axel Meyer, who retired from our institute after an impressive 37 years. The institute wishes him all the best for this new chapter in his life and Maike Peters a successful start in her new role and every success!
