Children's University 2023: Tricky detective work at the Leibniz-IWT

From March 21-30, the Bremen Children's University of the University of Bremen took place again. Under the motto "Discovering and understanding the world", children in grades 3 to 6 were able to experience science live and on site, pester the researchers with questions and take a look behind the scenes on campus. There were not only vivid lectures, but also exciting workshops to discover.
For the Leibniz-IWT, Dr. Andree Irretier and Dr. Kerstin Hantzsche were present as lecturers. They presented their detective work at the institute to three level 5 school classes with cases from real life: How could a harbor crane tear through while loading ships? Why did an old woman's walker break, causing her to fall and injure herself? And who was to blame for a tanker truck carrying liquid chocolate losing a large quantity of its precious cargo because the hose suddenly burst?
Together with the young researchers, they set out to find clues and successfully solve each case together.
