Joint research work of the future - cooperation with the Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University
The papers were already signed on 20.09.2023, now it's official: The Leibniz-IWT has signed a cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Science (Chiang Mai University) for the next five years. This will enable both institutions to conduct research visits and exchange research information.
On November 09, the cooperation ceremony took place via Zoom with Prof. Dr. -Ing. Rainer Fechte-Heinen, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyada Suwanpinij and M.Sc. Maike Peters. Initial possibilities, schedules and details were discussed with the staff of the Faculty of Science in Chiang Mai. The city of Chiang Mai, one of the largest cities in the northern region of Thailand, is home to the renowned Faculty of Science at the Chiang Mai University, an internationally prestigious university. The city is also known for its cultural monuments and Buddhist temples as well as the impressive landscape that surrounds it.
The joint research topics planned for the next five years include metallurgical topics such as cast iron with high Cr and Mn content, wear-resistant cast iron, steel with high Mn content and ultra-fine-grained Al-Zn alloy for Al-air batteries. In the field of civil engineering, the exchange is expected to focus on the further development of aerated concrete rubble for new recycled building products and sprayed slag.
We are proud and looking forward to start this research cooperation!
