Great award for Prof. Kabliman: in the Leibniz Competition 2026, her submitted project "AI-guided Computational Materials Design for Sustainable Manufacturing and Materials Innovation (AIM)" convinced the reviewers and was recommended for funding in the Leibniz Professorship Program. On July 15, the Senate decided on the funding and followed the committee's positive recommendation. The funding not only honors a promising research project, but also Director Kabliman personally, offering her valuable opportunities for further networking and development through the Leibniz Association.
The project she submitted relies on simulation to reduce experiments and save resources in the development of new materials. A particular focus is on the integration of innovative AI-based modeling for material design, for example in additive manufacturing. The resulting findings are therefore of great interest not only for research, but also directly for industry.
The Leibniz Women Professors Program aims to attract excellent female scientists to the Leibniz Association and to support and retain outstanding female researchers already working at Leibniz Institutes in their careers. The four internationally renowned female scientists selected this year will receive a total of around 3.9 million euros in funding over five years following their appointment.
