Successful doctoral colloquium for Saeedeh Imani
Droplets of liquid metals play a crucial role in a variety of process engineering applications. During her doctoral research about „Generation of micron-sized metal particles using a drop-on-demand single droplet generator“, the former IWT colleague Saeedeh Imani focused on how to reproducibly create single droplets of high-melting-point metals with respect to size, thermal history, microstructure, and properties.
Through her work, she developed a worldwide unique experimental setup that she used to produce spherical micro-samples from various metals for the determination of material profiles. This process has since found many additional applications, such as determining thermophysical properties.
The Institute congratulates Saeedeh and wishes her all the best for her professional future!
