The Institute was represented by three colleagues at the International Conference on Barkhausen Noise and Micromagnetic Testing (ICBM15) in Tampere from September 23-26. Every two years, the ICBM brings together scientists and industry representatives from all over the world to discuss the latest developments and findings in the field of Barkhausen noise and micromagnetic testing methods.  

Prof. Karpuschewski was already present as chairman at the first ICBM in Hanover in 1998. The 15th conference of this kind was organized by the University of Tampere and the company Stresstech.  Prof. Karpuschewski was able to give a keynote speech on the general possibilities of in-process measurements of Barkhausen noise in complex manufacturing processes. In addition, Rahel Jedamski from Materials Engineering and Gerrit Kuhlmann from Production Engineering reported on their specific research projects.
