This year's MSE2024 (Materials Science and Engineering) of the DGM took place in Darmstadt and online from September 24 to 26. A wide range of topics were covered, so some of the institute's employees were on site. 

Dr. Anastasiya Tönjes and her team from the Lightweight Materials department and Dr. Ilya Okulov and his team from the Processing of Functional Materials department were involved in the organization of several symposia and were able to present current research in the fields of additive manufacturing, dealloying, materials recycling, medical technology, functional materials, complex materials and digitalization in several lectures. 

Dr. Norbert Riefler and Henk Birkholz from Process Engineering were actively involved at the stand of the Material Digital joint project with a poster and presentation. This was complemented by a presentation at the "Sustainable approaches for materials recycling" symposium.
