For many years now, the Leibniz-IWT has been linked to the Institut Jean Lamour in Nancy, France, through a valuable cooperation that enables exchange programs for young researchers every year. Some colleagues from Bremen now had the opportunity to present the current research activities of our institute in person and to get to know the main research areas of our colleagues in Nancy.  

Topics relating to additive manufacturing, new heat treatment technologies, as well as material simulation on various scales and the latest experimental methods being researched and applied in the institutes were discussed. This generated new ideas for joint research projects. In addition, possibilities for personal further qualification and the use of infrastructure for students and doctoral students from both institutes during study or research visits were discussed.
