Abstract:
In order to better understand the interactions of microorganisms with materials and systems, it is useful in most cases to know which microorganisms are involved in these processes.
Analysis and identification by MALDI-ToF mass spectrometry offers a fast and efficient method to characterise a wide variety of microorganisms.
The article provides an overview of the range of applications and possibilities of the MALDI Biotyper at Leibniz-IWT using examples.
