Leibniz-IWT at MSE Congress 2026
Event details
Darmstadt
Germany
From September 29 to October 1, 2026, the MSE Congress will take place at the Technical University of Darmstadt – Germany's leading international conference for materials science and engineering. The event will be held in hybrid format, enabling both on-site and online participation.
Leibniz-IWT is involved in organizing four symposia:
In the Digital Transformation topic area, Prof. Dr. techn. Evgeniya Kabliman, member of the IWT Board of Directors and Head of the Digitalization Technology department, is co-organizing symposium D05 "Symbolic Regression for Materials Science and Engineering" together with Prof. Dr. Gabriel Kronberger (University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria). Symbolic regression enables the development of interpretable mathematical models from experimental data, contributing to the acceleration of materials design. Dr.-Ing. Anastasiya Tönjes, Head of the Lightweight Materials department, is co-organizing symposium D06 "Materials Science in the Era of Digital Transformation and Machine Learning", which focuses on data-driven approaches and machine learning in materials science.
In the Processing and Synthesis topic area, Dr.-Ing. Anastasiya Tönjes is also co-organizing symposium P04 "Simulation-Based Design and Additive Manufacturing of Load-Optimized Components", addressing simulation-based methods for additive manufacturing and the development of tailored material concepts. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ilya Okulov, Head of the Processing of Functional Materials department, is co-organizing symposium P06 "Additive Manufacturing Technologies and Materials", which covers current developments and future trends in additive manufacturing of high-performance components.
