Leibniz-IWT Live: (Uncommon) Failure Analysis and (cryogenic) Material Testing at the MPA Bremen
Event details
Systematic failure analysis is an established procedure for determining the cause of a component or machine failure. Determining the primary cause of damage serves to initiate remedial measures and thus also to prevent further consequential damage. The next event in the “IWT live” series will present illustrative cases of everyday objects as well as innovative hydrogen research.
Dr.-Ing. Andree Irretier, head of the “Metallic Materials and Components” and “Metallographic Analysis” departments, will give an insight into his work at MPA Bremen - a division of Leibniz-IWT - on March 20, 2025 from 4 pm. He will also report on the extended possibilities of mechanical-technological materials testing at extremely low temperatures (20 K), which has recently become possible at the MPA Bremen.
In the digital event series “IWT live”, experienced employees of Leibniz-IWT will report on their current research activities. Following the 30-minute presentation, the same amount of time is scheduled for questions and lively discussion. The lecture series is aimed at all interested parties from science and practice, regardless of whether they already know the institute or would like to get to know it.
The lectures in this series of events cover a wide range of topics and projects and demonstrate the breadth of materials-oriented research.
