Leibniz-IWT is opening its doors to schoolgirls in grades 5 to 8 as part of Girls' Day on 25 April 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Under the theme "From powder to finished component", the programme offers many hands-on activities and insights into materials research, including a materials rally and the opportunity to make your own piece of jewellery using 3D printing. The event aims to arouse interest in scientific and technical professions and to demonstrate the importance of metallic materials in modern technology in a fun way. Participants are asked to wear sturdy shoes and tie back long hair. A lunch break with refreshments is planned.
