AWT-Seminar „Bainitizing for Industrial Practice“
Event details
Increasing demands for energy efficiency and emission reduction lead to continuous performance enhancement and higher stress levels on components in the automotive and mechanical engineering sectors. Bainitizing is increasingly being used for high-strength components.
The technological advantages such as high toughness combined with high hardness, low distortion, and a favorable residual stress state in components are far from achievable through conventional martensitic hardening. To exploit the full potential of this hardening process, in-depth knowledge of the mechanisms and material science processes involved is required. The aim of the seminar is to impart basic materials technology knowledge and to demonstrate process engineering, quality assurance, and application using component examples. Through practical demonstrations in the hardening shop and metallography laboratory, participants will gain hands-on experience with the process sequence and quality assurance options.
