iwt.uni-bremen.deThe objectives of the ECO-Center for innovative manufacturing technologies are reflected in its name – economical and ecological manufacturing concepts focussing on the development of manufacturing processes, machines and components to allow production that will meet the requirements of both aspects.
The ECO-Center’s research areas are advanced manufacturing processes with special focus in the areas process integration (e.g., grind-hardening), development of sensor-integrated tools, scientific investigation of advanced metalworking fluids, and the generation of functional surfaces. By picking up research in the field of manufacturing technology linked to material science, physics and chemistry, the ECO-Center gained interdisciplinary expertise in both, engineering science and natural science.
The ECO-Center is a reliable partner when it comes to handling research projects and creating solutions for day-to-day problems in industry; whereby the development and transfer of technological expertise and experience constitutes one of the most significant services offered by the ECO-Center and its workforce.
