Research at the Division Manufacturing Technologies focuses on the interaction of machining and metal forming processes.
Key areas of the Division Manufacturing Technologies are:
- Fundamental research on machining and metal forming processes,
- economical and ecological evaluation,
- optimization of metal working fluid design and supply,
- characteristics and construction of tools,
- development of process chains and manufacturing process integration,
- quality inspection and measurement,
- process simulation,
- development of manufacturing processes to provide innovative products in the field of microtechnology, medical technology and aerospace industry.
The Division Manufacturing Technologies is devided regarding the key activities into the ECO-Center for innovative manufacturing technologies and the Laboratory for Precision Machining (LFM).
