Journal of Heat Treatment and Materials
(formerly: Zeitschrift für Werkstoffe, Wärmebehandlung, Fertigung)
HTM Journal of Heat Treatment and Materials is a significant communication media for knowledge transfer in heat treatment and materials science. HTM is published bi-monthly by Carl Hanser Verlag, Munich. The editorial office is located at the IWT, Bremen, with 1 600 copies print run and ca. 400 pages per year.
In 2008 the German title of HTM changed to an English version. Since issue 4 HTM is named: HTM Journal of Heat Treatment and Materials
- ISSN 0341-101X.
HTM Journal of Heat Treatment and Materials is at the same time organ of the (AWT) the German Association for Materials and Heat Treatment, with its managing editors Prof. Dr. E. J. Mittemeijer, Stuttgart, Prof. Dr.-Ing. B. Scholtes, Kassel, und Dr. H. Altena, Mödling.
Each issue of HTM contains advanced scientific research results as well as developments and practice-based articles
- heat treatment, materials science, plus associated topics in process engineering and manufacturing technology,
- plant engineering and process measurement/control equipment
- quality management
HTM informs related to practice amongst others about heat treatment plants and agents, heat treatment technology, material and component strength, process-oriented sequential control, materials testing, coating technologies, quality assurance and environmentalism in heat treatment companies.
Lectures of the annual HK, colloquium on heat treatment, materials science, process engineering, and manufacturing technology in Wiesbaden, are published as well as exclusive lectures of international meetings and AWT conferences on heat treatment topics, scientific reports of the IWT and information of the AWT technical committees. The journal is a forum for publication of scientific and development results and furthermore opened for contributions of other research institutes and industry
In 2008 HTM volume 63 following topics amongst others have been published:
heat-treatment processes, plants, technology, simulation, distortion, carburization, sensor technology, nitriding and nitrocarburizing, carbonitriding, hardening and quenching, surface engineering, materials and component properties as well as nonferrous metals, and quality control
Submitted manuscripts can be written in German or English (AE or BE). You find the
guidelines in our ‘Information for Authors’ in German and English.
All manuscripts will be submitted to reviewers who recommend whether the contribution should be published or what changes are necessary. The names of the reviewers are printed on table of contents of the journal HTM.
